too thick, too thin

body criticisms, can we just leave these with the rest of the blunders that happened in 2016; yep Donald I'm not your fan darling and you need to stay in 2016 too. I'm so fed up with seeing successful, inspiring people, wait no scrap that..seeing ANYONE being slammed for their body.

to those who have commented on others bodies in a negative manner, I have one question...

what damn business is it of yours?

After seeing some really hateful things being thrown around online this week I decided that now would be a good time to put some people back in their place, or just on a island where they can't voice their unintelligent comments. This is going to be a little more on the personal side as it's something that really hits home, so don't expect any hold backs. There are some girls online that I absolutely adore, who have the kindest hearts, they're truly lovely people and they work bloody hard at what they do, but then there are some sad individuals that decide that all of that should be discredited because in their opinion, they need to 'lose a few' or they're 'a bit stick looking'...

...HOLD UP, did this person asked to be showered with your negativity and poor outlook on life? I don't think so, GIRL/BOY/INSUFFERABLE IDIOT, BYE.

However this issue extends far past the reach of the internet, every day successful women and men are sprawled across tabloid and gossip columns because of their body image, apparently in this day and age it's breaking news if a kardashian puts on a little weight here or there. Don't forget the bikini shots that paps lurk behind trees to snap which then get plastered all over the front of tacky magazines with the headline 'CURVES GALORE, *insert name* looking like the pounds have piled on' UGH, okay..

1 - probably just a bad angle, because lets face it, we're not all fitness freaks with toned abs so we aren't going to look our best from every angle.
2 - WHY DOES IT EVEN MATTER.

that is really the message of this post, why does it matter. Why does someone elses body matter so much to us? So much so that individuals feel entitled to rip down everything else they've achieved because of it?

I'm no Jenner/Kardashian fan girl, believe me. But when Kylie's body is making headlines over the fact shes launched a hugely successful, now two hugely successful buisness', does that not make you realise how screwed up our society is? She's killing it in the business world yet the headlines slam her for her body, again and again.

I'm really sorry to break it to you but in the grand scheme of things Kylie's suspected breast augmentation ain't shit.

The disappointing thing is that this will never change because it's what these cheap, nonsense magazines build their content from. It's because of these headlines and articles that the general public deem it to be okay to outwardly condemn someone because of their body without a second thought. I'm all for men and women being empowered with their body, Em Rata is an amazing example of this, I have nothing against posting whatever the hell you want to post, wherever the hell you want to post it, because it's your body and you have the right to and if you're happy in yourself then why the hell shouldn't you. The issue comes from people not being aware of the phrase 'if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'

To top it off, there are so many contributing factors to weight gain and weight loss that aren't visible to the naked eye when passing by someone, looking at a photo or reading tacky articles. There could be severe physical/mental issues they're fighting that you don't know about. Body image criticism becomes a lot harder to deal with when you don't actually have control over your body, there are so many medications that cause crazy weight fluctuations as a side effect, this can be something as simple as birth control. So imagine if you're already sitting there feeling absolutely horrendous about yourself because of this medication you HAVE to take, to then have a complete stranger decide that your body isn't perfect in their eyes and so therefore you deserve a torrent of abuse. I don't know whether it's bitterness, jealousy or just pure hatred that allows people to justify their comments in their own minds but I can assure you there is no justification for slamming someones appearance. It is literally no one's business how you choose to look.

To the people that sit behind their screens spilling out vile words on to peoples photos, I pity you.
To those who shout abuse in the streets and night clubs, I pity you.
To the quite frankly pathetic excuses of journalists that post body shaming articles, I pity you, and feel sorry that you quite clearly lack the brain cells to write something of significance.

To the people that have endured body shaming, you are beautiful and you are ten times the person than the individual on the other side will EVER be. Love yourself, love every damn inch, put yourself up on that pedestal and don't let anyone pull you down.
